so delicious.

things i eat, when i eat them

Notes

No stranger to committing myself to time-consuming and complicated desserts in order to put myself through Chinese water torture to create them and afterward try to pass it off as mere child’s play, I told my aunt that I would bring this to our family’s Thanksgiving dinner this year:
Cranberry-Chocolate Tart
Now, the most fuuun part about this whole situation is that I agreed to bring this very tart to our Christmas dinner last year with not-so-surprisingly disastrous results.
Mistake 1. I went to about 8 different grocery stores looking for mascarpone cheese, all sold out. Not that finding mascarpone cheese in suburban Houston is an easy feat on any day, much less Christmas Eve.
Mistake 2. I did not read the recipe before setting out on this nearly 24-hr cooking journey. I thought it might set me back 1 hour + chill time. Not the case.
Mistake 3. Don’t even get me started on that crystallized ginger…
But I will not back down from this delicious looking holiday treat! I will try again. And I WILL shop for the ingredients wearing appropriately padded clothing to ensure I receive no bodily harm should I need to tackle/shove/elbow/bodyslam any unsuspecting housewives for the last package of mascarpone.
Of course, when this all goes down, I will post photos for you here AND give myself photo credit in italics at the bottom. Pfft.
